Killick yatch

Our main 21 foot yacht

The Yacht:

Originally sold as a racing cruiser and in her 50th year she is called Killick. A Four-21 by type she is a 21 foot yacht bilge keel with beautiful lines who’s above water beam width allows four to sleep in comfort and will squeese five into the cabin (we had six once with the addition of a boom hammock). She sails incredibly close to the wind for a bilge keel (as reported in an old Yachting Monthly we found from the time!) and due to her weight (3 tonne) she handles a good blow with ease, punching through a swell. She can be skippered by the more experienced and qualified members of the club, although all members are welcome as crew and we actively encourage all members to push their experience at an accelerated pace; everybody helms every trip. Regular sailing with us and you will breeze a day skipper course. We do day/evening sails, weekends away and travel as far as Poole, Portsmouth, the Island and round it. After her refit in 2016 we have “new” second hand foresails sails from a racing Hunter Sonata, with the big new No1 now pushing us along in the lightest of airs
