Killick

Sailing on Killick is usually organised by the mailing list. On tide suitable Saturdays Killick will usually sail if skippers are available. Regular club sails every weekend can be considered as the normal state, contact the dinghy bosun any time to enquire about any forthcoming weekend, numbers dictate when and where we go.Apart from the biscuits most trips include crew being active in trying new skills from knots to navigation, sail trim lessons, helming with and without the motor for those that wish to (eg all members are taught how to start and use the engine as a mandatory saftey issue, even if they never envisage doing so). A day trip may include a sail down to Netley to see the park and the dinghies, especially if the dinghies are out sailing. Out in to the Solent and back for a shorter trip or over to Cowes for lunch perhaps?
Qualified skippers may propose day sails and longer cruises to the cruiser bosun to approve the passage plan. The trip will then be advertised on the mailing list for all members, and possibly in events here or the Facebook page . It is not possible to charter Killick, for reasons both of club ethos and coding/insurance! Evening or afternoon sails may be “advertised” on the mailing list at short notice, for example on a warm sunny day! Killick has a full complement of tested life-jackets for use by members.

Dinghies

Dinghy sailing with a safety boat in attendance is facilitated by sailing with Netley Sailing Club’s racing programme, which can be found here (usually every Sunday March-Dec and a summer evening series).
